LNG storage tank (cryogenic storage tank) is a kind of LNG carrier.This type of LNG carrier works under very special conditions.Large capacity LNG storage tanks operate at ultra-low temperatures (-162 ° C).

6.What’s the Principle of Loading an LPG Tank Trailer?

The loading process of LPG storage tank trailer is a transfer process between LPG storage tank and LPG transport truck.The process involves unloading the tanks using slide-vane pumps while refueling on a transport truck.Here’s a detailed process of how this happens:

1.Before starting the process, the pressure between the two tanks is equalized to facilitate the transfer of the liquefied gas.

2.Then start the slide vane pump to work and pull out the LPG from the bottom of the storage tank through the conveying pipe, conveying gas through the bottom of the conveying tank

3.When a transport tank is filled with liquefied gas, the accumulated steam is passively transferred from the transport tank top to the storage tank top.

This ensures that the pressure is balanced during transmission.

4.When the tank is filled with the required volume, the LPG transport process is complete

1.Steel tube inspection

2.Hot shell nosing

3.Bottle neck cutting

The next stage is bottleneck cutting, which is a simple process, as shown below.This process is necessary to simplify the process of filling tubes with high-pressure liquids.

One of the most important considerations during bottleneck cutting is to obtain the correct dimensions to avoid leakage.

4.Rough machining

The next step after cutting the bottleneck is roughing, as shown below.Through this process, all cut areas are carefully roughened to produce a good finish.

5.Quenching, heat treatment, and tempering

After rough machining, the CNG tube is hardened, heat treated and tempered.

Heating and tempering processes are necessary to increase the strength or toughness of the tube.

This process also removes any excess hardness.The temperature applied to the tube depends on the required level of hardness.

Quenching refers to the rapid cooling process used to harden steel and other metals.Quenching prevents any unnecessary cryogenic processes from occurring during quenching.

Quenching, heating and tempering work together to ensure that the finished tube is hardened enough to handle the pressurized liquid load.

6.Outside polishing

After assembly and heating of the internal parts of the CGN tubes, the next step is external polishing.The purpose of this process is to improve its appearance and prevent the surface from rusting or corrosion.

7.Hydrostatic testing

CNG pipelines transport gas under high pressure.Hydrostatic testing is one of the most important steps in the manufacturing process because the results determine the safety of the pipe.

Hydrostatic testing involves testing cylinders for strength and leakage.A liquid is used to test the pipe for leaks.

Many manufacturers add color or water to the water and use it to detect leaks in pipes.The strength of the tube is determined by checking the surface for any permanent deformation after filling it with a liquid under pressure.Hydrostatic testing not only ensures that the pipeline meets safety standards, but also ensures its durability.

8.Steam drying

The next stage after the pipe has passed the hydrostatic test is steam drying.Usually, this process helps to completely dry the inside of the tube using steam.

9.Inner Shot Peening

Shot peening is a cold working process that relieves stress and enhances the strength of steel parts.In this case the process is necessary to strengthen the tank structure.In addition, internal shot peening gives the tube a soft finish.

10.Inner tube inspection

Inadequate inspection at the beginning of the manufacturing process.Tubes must be checked again after the above procedure, especially for internal parts.

During this inspection, a device is inserted into the tube, which sends an image of the internal structure.The manufacturer can see any defects or defects on the screen and remove them before assembling all the parts.

11.Non-destructive and air tight testing

Non-destructive testing procedures are used at this stage, which means that the process does not damage the materials of the tank body.

The air tight testing is necessary to ensure that the tank will not leak any gas out especially at high levels of pressure.

12.Paint spraying and assembly
